Day 33: Exodus 39:1-40:35
"Inspection of your weapon will be at 1800 hours, if you fail, you will not get a weekend pass." Yells the drill sergeant. He continues, "Pay attention to details!" A weekend pass meant we could go to the PX, bowling, eat whatever food we wanted or sleep as long as we needed. So, it was imperative that we paid very close attention to detailing our weapon.
God designed the blueprint of the Tabernacle and the clothing to be worn by the priest. God was detailed. Specific. The Israelite's paid close attention to the details to ensure they got it right the first time. After all, it would become the meeting place of God with his people. "Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them." Exodus 39:43
Spiritually speaking, paying attention to the details of our spiritual life is critically important. It is easy to wonder off into a sea of recklessness and thoughtlessness and delve into spiritual chaos if our focus isn't on living the Jesus life, praying to our Heavenly Father, digging deep into God's Word and gathering with a community of people who seek to be honorable to God.
"We must give our full attention to what we were told, so that we won’t drift away." Hebrews 2:1 Paying attention to the spiritual instructions that navigates our lives will keep us from going down dead-end roads or experience a life of hopelessness. The Psalmist said, "Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk." Light is needed to see clearly the details of life so that we will make the right choices about where we go, what we say, how we treat others, keeping our word, loving God mostly and loving others, too!
When we fail in the details, God is limitless in grace and deep in mercy and slow to anger and never has to think long and hard about forgiving us...he always does!
Remember, Be God Controlled!
